Under the national system of protection of geographical indications (IG) and Designations of Origin (AO), the Moroccan Office of Industrial and Commercial Property (OMPIC) responsible for maintaining the national register of geographical indications and designations Parents, according to law 17-97 on the Protection of Industrial Property (as amended and supplemented by Law 31-05), recorded February 25, 2010 the first two requests GI / AO.
These requests were presented by the Minister of Agriculture and Fisheries Nautical and concern:
- IG on the name "Argan" for products: Argan oil;
- The AO on the name "Olive Tyout Chiadma" for products: Olive oil extra virgin.
